Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these air fryer baked potatoes are an easy and delicious way to enjoy a classic side dish with minimal effort and no oven required.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 potatoes

Seasoning

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Optional Toppings

  • Sour cream
  • Chives
  • Bacon bits
  • Your favorite baked potato toppings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Wash the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Using a fork, poke each potato about 10 times to allow steam to escape during cooking. Drizzle olive oil over the potatoes and rub it evenly to coat the skin.
  2. Season: Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket and sprinkle kosher salt evenly on top to enhance flavor and help crisp the skin.
  3. Air Fry: Set the air fryer temperature to 390˚F without preheating. Cook the potatoes for 50-60 minutes, turning them over halfway through at about 25 minutes to ensure even cooking. Potatoes are done when tender inside and the skin is crisp.
  4. Serve: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and serve hot with sour cream, chives, bacon bits, or your preferred baked potato toppings for a delicious meal or side dish.

Notes

  • Choose medium-sized potatoes for even cooking.
  • Cooking time may vary based on potato size and air fryer model.
  • Use a fork to check for doneness by piercing the potato; it should go in easily.
  • For extra crispy skin, rub a little extra oil on the potatoes before air frying.
  • Leftover baked potatoes can be refrigerated and reheated in the air fryer for best texture.
