A delicious and easy-to-make cherry overnight oats recipe featuring rolled oats soaked in milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey, vanilla, mini chocolate chips, and fresh cherries. Perfect for a nutritious and ready-to-eat breakfast that can be prepared the night before.

Ingredients

Scale

Overnight Oats Mixture

  • ¼ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ⅓ cup milk of choice
  • ¼ cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons mini chocolate chips (plus extra for topping if desired)
  • 23 tablespoons chopped fresh cherries (about 34 cherries)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey, vanilla extract, mini chocolate chips, and chopped fresh cherries to a small jar (at least 8 oz). Mix gently but thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  2. Refrigerate Overnight: Cover the jar with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the oats to soak for at least 8 hours or overnight to absorb the liquid and flavors fully.
  3. Serve: Remove the jar from the refrigerator in the morning, stir if needed, and enjoy the overnight oats cold straight from the fridge. Optionally, add extra mini chocolate chips on top for garnish.

Notes

  • Use plain nonfat Greek yogurt for a creamy texture and added protein. You can substitute with dairy-free yogurt if preferred.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to taste.
  • Overnight oats can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days, making them convenient for meal prep.
  • Milk of choice can be dairy or plant-based, such as almond, soy, or oat milk.
  • If fresh cherries are out of season, frozen cherries can be thawed and used instead.
