Spice up your breakfast with these delicious Jalapeño Popper Bagels that are loaded with creamy cheese, crispy bacon, and a kick of jalapeño heat.

Bacon:

  • 5 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped

Cream Cheese Mixture:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. shredded white cheddar
  • 1 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
  • 2 jalapeños, minced
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Bagels:

  • 3 bagels, halved
  • 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Bacon: Preheat oven to 350ºF. Cook bacon until crispy, about 8 minutes. Drain and chop.
  2. Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, white cheddar, 1/2 cup Monterey Jack, jalapeños, garlic powder, chopped bacon, salt, and pepper.
  3. Assemble and Bake: Place bagel halves on a baking sheet, spread with the cream cheese mixture, top with remaining Monterey Jack. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted. Garnish with jalapeño slices.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spiciness by seeding the jalapeños before adding them to the mixture.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon and add some smoked paprika for flavor.
