Delicious and easy-to-make Nutter Butter Balls are creamy peanut butter truffles made from crushed Nutter Butter cookies, cream cheese, and dipped in smooth chocolate. These no-bake treats have a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness, ideal for holiday parties, snacks, or dessert platters.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 16 ounce package Nutter Butter cookies
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (optional)

Coating and Toppings

  • 10 ounces chocolate melting wafers
  • Sprinkles (for topping)
  • Sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Process Cookies: Add the Nutter Butter cookies to a food processor and process until fine crumbs form. Reserve 1 tablespoon of crumbs for topping, if desired.
  2. Mix Ingredients: Add softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and creamy peanut butter to the food processor with the cookie crumbs. Process until the mixture is well combined into a smooth, uniform dough.
  3. Form Balls: Use a medium cookie scoop to portion out the mixture and roll each portion into balls with your hands. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and continue until all dough is used.
  4. Melt Chocolate: Place chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and melt in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
  5. Dip Balls: Using a spoon and fork, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Gently slide the coated ball off the fork onto the parchment paper to set.
  6. Add Toppings: After every 4th ball, sprinkle the tops with reserved Nutter Butter crumbs, sprinkles, or sea salt before the chocolate sets for added texture and flavor.
  7. Set Truffles: Allow the chocolate-coated balls to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes until hardened. Alternatively, refrigerate for about 10 minutes to speed up the setting process.
  8. Store Properly: Once set, store the Nutter Butter Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will keep fresh and delicious for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened before mixing to achieve a smooth dough.
  • For a quicker set, refrigerate after dipping in chocolate.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness and prevent drying.
  • You can customize toppings with crushed nuts or shredded coconut if desired.
  • Nutter Butter Balls can also be made smaller bite-sized for party platters.
