Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 10 ounce bag marshmallows
  • 1 box vanilla instant pudding mix (3.4 ounce)
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice mix
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (melted)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil or parchment paper. Grease the lining thoroughly with butter using the butter wrapper or a brush to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add all marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted, then reduce heat to low to avoid burning.
  3. Add Flavor and Cereal: Remove the pot from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla instant pudding mix and pumpkin pie spice mix until well combined. Immediately fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, mixing carefully to coat evenly without crushing the cereal.
  4. Shape the Treats: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Press the treats evenly into the pan. Avoid pressing too hard as that will cause the treats to be dry and hard.
  5. Add Toppings: Spread the melted white chocolate chips evenly over the top of the pressed cereal mixture. Immediately sprinkle colorful sprinkles over the white chocolate before it sets.
  6. Set and Serve: Allow the treats to cool and set for about 1 hour at room temperature. Once set, cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your festive pumpkin-spiced treat!

Notes

  • Make sure to melt the marshmallows on medium to low heat to avoid burning and achieving a smooth texture.
  • Pressing the mixture too hard in the pan can result in tough, dry treats; press just enough to compact them.
  • Use a large spoon or spatula to fold the cereal into the marshmallow mixture gently to maintain crispy texture.
  • You can substitute sprinkles with chopped nuts or pumpkin seeds for extra texture and flavor.
  • Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days for best freshness.
