RITZ Crackers Party Sandwiches are easy-to-make, bite-sized appetizers featuring layers of deli ham and Swiss cheese sandwiched between RITZ Crackers. Ingredients

Scale

Sandwiches

  • 96 RITZ® Crackers (about 3 sleeves)
  • ½ lb thinly sliced deli ham
  • lb thinly sliced Swiss cheese

Butter Glaze

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s ready for baking the sandwiches.
  2. Assemble Crackers and Ham: Place 24 RITZ Crackers flat side down in the bottom of a 13×9 inch baking dish. Repeat this step with another dish. Tear the deli ham gently into small strips and lay a lightly folded slice onto each cracker.
  3. Add Cheese and Top Crackers: Cut Swiss cheese into 1-inch pieces and place one piece on top of each ham layer. Then cover each sandwich with another RITZ Cracker, rounded side up, to complete the mini sandwiches.
  4. Prepare Butter Glaze: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for about 45 seconds. Whisk in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and salt until well combined.
  5. Coat Sandwiches: Pour the butter mixture evenly over the assembled sandwiches in both baking dishes. Sprinkle poppy seeds and dried onion flakes evenly on top.
  6. Bake: Bake the mini sandwiches for 10–12 minutes or until the cheese melts and the tops of the crackers turn lightly golden brown.
  7. Serve Warm: Carefully transfer the sandwiches to a serving platter and serve them warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can prepare these sandwiches ahead and refrigerate assembled but unbaked, then bake just before serving.
  • Substitute Swiss cheese with cheddar or your favorite cheese for a different flavor profile.
  • If poppy seeds are unavailable, sesame seeds make a good alternative topping.
  • Use gluten-free crackers to adapt this recipe for gluten-sensitive guests.
  • Be careful not to overbake to maintain a tender, melty inside with slightly crisp crackers.
