Ingredients

Scale

Base Mixture

  • 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups strawberry banana yogurt
  • 8 ounce container whipped topping, thawed

Fruit

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, washed, tops removed, hulled, and quartered (reserve ½ cup for garnish)
  • 2½ cups ripe bananas, peeled and sliced (reserve ½ cup for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Beat Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, use a handheld mixer on medium-high speed to beat the softened cream cheese for 1 to 1½ minutes until it becomes smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Sugar and Vanilla: Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, then continue beating for another 1½ to 2 minutes until the mixture is well incorporated and fluffy.
  3. Fold in Yogurt and Whipped Topping: Gently fold in the strawberry banana yogurt and the thawed whipped topping until the mixture is completely combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to chill and let the flavors meld.
  4. Add Fruit and Garnish: Just before serving, carefully fold in 3½ cups of the quartered strawberries and 2 cups of the sliced bananas to preserve their shape and texture. Garnish the salad with the reserved ½ cup of strawberries and ½ cup of sliced bananas for an attractive presentation.

Notes

  • To prevent bananas from browning, slice them just before serving and coat gently in a little lemon juice if desired.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese and whipped topping for a richer texture, but low-fat versions can be substituted for a lighter option.
  • This salad is best served within a few hours of preparation to maintain freshness and texture.
  • For a tangier version, substitute strawberry banana yogurt with plain Greek yogurt and add a little honey or sweetener to taste.
  • Keep the salad chilled until ready to serve to maintain its creamy consistency.
