A refreshing and vibrant Strawberry Citrus Iced Tea combining the robust flavor of black tea with the bright, natural sweetness of fresh strawberries, orange, and lemon slices. Perfectly sweetened with honey or sugar, this iced tea is a delightful drink to cool down on warm days, garnished with fresh mint leaves for an extra burst of freshness.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags

Fruit and Sweetener

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar (optional, to taste)

Serving

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan to prepare the base for your iced tea.
  2. Steep Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the tea bags. Allow them to steep for 5-7 minutes depending on your preferred tea strength.
  3. Prepare Fruits: While the tea steeps, wash and slice the strawberries, orange, and lemon to prepare fresh flavor components.
  4. Sweeten Tea: Remove the tea bags and stir in honey or sugar if using, until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
  5. Mix and Chill: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea with the sliced strawberries, orange, and lemon. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour so flavors can meld.
  6. Serve: Serve the iced tea over ice cubes in glasses or jars, and garnish each serving with fresh mint leaves for an aromatic finish.

Notes

  • Adjust the steeping time for lighter or stronger tea flavor.
  • Honey adds a richer sweetness, but sugar can be used as an alternative.
  • For a caffeine-free version, substitute black tea with herbal tea bags.
  • Ensure fruit is fresh and washed properly to maintain the best taste.
  • Mint leaves can be gently crushed to release more aroma before garnishing.
  • The tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for optimal freshness.
